Cork from Portugal

'Barking up the right tree'

Our material section is being updated regularly with new and suprising materials. Last week, acquaintances of ours went to Portugal and took taned cork with them for us. Locals call it 'the new leather' because it has similar properties in i.a. strength, water resistance and surface feel, and has the benefit of being very eco-friendly. Did you know a single Cork Oak can give 800 kilograms of cork every decade for over a hundred years? We love the combination with (aged) copper or brass. We are looking forward to making our first Scheek Tailored speakers with this finish! Visit our Pinterest board for more inspiration.
